Green Energy Chamber: Sneak Peak at My Magnum Opus

Drum roll please...

Tonight on my blog I am unveiling a glimpse of what I have been tirelessly working on with a  small team of people since August 2014. It is a third person "space-type" shooter video game. However, this game does not take place in outer-space.

There is more meaning to this game than I will communicate today, but I will delve deeper in future posts.

For the next few posts I am going to share
  • 1 piece of concept art
  • 1 animated GIF made from early 3D modeling footage

Each level has a meaningful riddle to solve in a place called an
Energy Chamber.

Below is concept art for the Green Energy Chamber.

    1. Thanks, Dezmond!!

Each energy chamber has a color and this one is green but It is not a coincidence that this energy chamber's color is "Green" because the riddle in this chamber very much relates to balance and harmony in nature and ourselves!

    3. Thanks, Dr. Theda!

I think you will enjoy my unveiling of this game because it has a very fantastical premise...

  3. Sure it will be grand indeed, sounds like a fun premise. Are the puzzles King`s Quest level difficulty, lol

    1. LOL! I'm trying to learn from my King's Quest experience and make the riddles actually solvable.

However, King's Quest is definitely an influence! They riddles are similar to King's Quest because to solve some of the riddles in the Energy Chambers you will need special "tools" that you must discover through your exploration of the game environment.

I intend to slowly explain the game play as I post images....

  6. I love the coloring on the energy chamber. Is that an eye in the center? You don't have to answer, that's more of just me talking aloud (since I know you can't say a lot yet).

Also, not sure if you can answer this, but what programming language are you making it in?

    1. Hey Bryan!

No, it is not an eye but something else very significant.

However, It is amazing that you ask if that is an eye because you are definitely on to something! In future posts you will see how apt your vision is.

We are using C# but I do not write code. I can only edit code. A very good programmer is in charge of writing the code.

Another thing that is very apt is your blog post. I learned something very interesting about you and Brandon in that post and I am eager to comment!

  10. Wow, that looks impressive. My first thought when I saw it and the word 'chamber' was that it looked like inside of a heart. :-)

    1. Dr. Theda why do you speak in the past tense? Obviously you are an amazing artist if you are the man behind the Devil's Workshop. Your creations are amazing! It looks like you and I both work in 3D.... I sculpt with pixels and you sculpt with rubber.

    2. cannot afford "sculpting" materials... still have a few pounds clay ( over 30 years old) and my nervous disorder does not allow us to draw as we used to...
... so "was" is the proper term...
Devil's Workshop is the "Yellow Phantom"... and he is very talented....
If I had access to kiln we could gather up some of the dense red clay across county line (Anson co,) we could do some cool sculpts...
